Kansas City, Mo. – Every year one in nine American adults will be diagnosed with kidney disease. Millions more are at an increased risk and don’t know it. Knowing your risk factors, along with early detection, can help prevent the progression of kidney disease to kidney failure.
St. Joseph Medical Center is offering free kidney health risk assessments with an educational seminar presented by Walter L. Bender, MD, with Kidney Associates of Kansas City, PC, on Monday, October 11, in the Community Center for Health and Education on the St. Joseph campus at I-435 and State Line Road. Attendees will learn about the risk factors for kidney disease and what can be done to prevent or delay this disease. The free risk assessments will be available 5-6:30 p.m., the seminar will follow from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
