Kansas City, Mo.– St. Joseph Medical Center’s Cancer Program has earned a Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. St. Joseph undertook an intensive evaluation process, which included an on-site review by a physician surveyor to ensure the medical center complies with stringent standards in areas such as cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, community outreach and quality improvement.
As an Accredited Cancer Program, St. Joseph provides comprehensive care, including a range of state-of-the-art services and equipment, and a multispecialty team approach to coordinate the best treatment options for patients. Patients also receive access to information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options, and the medical center’s cancer registry collects data on type and stage of cancers and treatment results for lifelong follow-up care.
