Center for Lung Health
Lung cancer kills more people every year than breast, prostate and colon cancers combined. It is the number one cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Many times symptoms do not present themselves until the cancer has progressed to later stages, but when caught early, the survival rates increase substantially.
Lung Cancer-Early Detection
The goal is simple-to detect lung cancer early and save lives. Screening is the process of looking for cancer in patients who do not yet show symptoms. Your healthcare clinician may recommend a lung cancer screening if you meet the following criteria.

Screening Program for Lung Cancer
The recommended screening test for lung cancer is low-dose computed tomography (also called a low-dose CT scan). During a LDCT scan, you lie on a table and an X-ray machine uses a low dose of radiation to make detailed images of your lungs. The scan only takes a few minutes and is not painful.
Once you are enrolled in our program, you will have access to a multi-disciplinary team that will follow you throughout.
We also offer a self-pay discounted rate of $150 for those who may not meet criteria or insurance will not cover. mdsave.com/sjmc-lung
If you have risks for lung cancer, speak with your healthcare clinician about whether or not lung cancer screening might be right for you.
