John Forman, MD, FACS
St. Joseph Medical Center welcomes John Forman, MD, back to its medical staff! Dr. Forman has over 30 years of experience and is board certified in general surgery, cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery.
Dr. Forman specializes in open heart surgery including coronary artery bypass grafting, as well as aortic and mitral valve replacement. In addition, he performs numerous vascular surgeries, including carotid and femoral endarterectomies and abdominal aneurysm repair. Furthermore, Dr. Forman routinely performs thoracic surgery including lobectomy, mediastinoscopies, and video assisted thoracoscopy (VATS).
Dr. Forman will serve as the Director of Cardiothoracic Surgical Services at St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Forman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, was selected as one of Kansas City 435 Magazine’s Top Doctors in 2017, and was also named a Super Doctor by the magazine in 2011. Jeremy Melton, PA
Kansas City Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery is pleased to announce Jeremy Melton, board-certified physician assistant, has returned to St. Joseph Medical Center. Jeremy specializes in cardiovascular surgery and offers more than 15 years of experience caring for vascular and heart surgery patients. Prior to becoming a physician assistant Jeremy worked at a paramedic for seven years. He has specialized expertise in surgical assistance for procedures including open and endovascular vein harvesting. In addition to his heart care expertise, Jeremy also has a background In orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, emergency medicine and as a hospitalist. His breadth of experience has not only strengthened his clinical skills, but also equipped him with the professional, calming patient care manner for which he is known, and a strong ability to assess, counsel and communicate effectively. Jeremy is a father of six. He has over 30 years of experience in martial arts, holds three different blackbelts, one is a 6th degree in karate, 3rd degree in judo and 1st degree in Brazilian jiu jitsu. He has also been a lifelong student of art.
