Kansas City, Mo.— The Carondelet Heart Institute will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, September 30, 4–6 p.m., for the expansion of the facility. The ceremony will take place outside the current facility, located at 930 Carondelet Drive, Kansas City, Mo. A reception inside the current Carondelet Heart Institute main entrance will follow the groundbreaking.
The 22,000-square-foot expansion will double the size of the current facility. Over the past year, the Carondelet Heart Institute has added 12 cardiologists to its team which now consists of 20 physicians, including a cardiovascular surgeon and 104 staff members. A record number of cardiac surgeries and procedures were performed during fiscal year 2011.
Lillibridge is the developer of the new building which will be an expansion to the existing St. Joseph Medical Building and in addition to the long-term lease agreement with the Carondelet Heart Institute, it will have space available for primary care physicians and other specialists.
