
Cardiac Rehabilitation and Medical Exercise
Supporting Saint Mary’s Cardiology is a specialized cardiac rehabilitation regimen that can help you recover from a cardiac event and help prevent another one from occurring. Cardiac rehabilitation assists with:
- Weight management
- Controlling blood pressure
- Keeping cholesterol levels in check
- Improving coronary heart disease risk factors
- Increasing physical fitness
- Education about heart-related issues
- Symptom management

Medical Exercise at Saint Mary’s Fitness Center
Saint Mary’s Cardiac Fitness program, a secondary phase of cardiac rehab, is a supervised exercise program designed to help you learn to self-manage your overall cardiovascular health. It’s intended for anyone with an existing or potential heart problem. The program is a supervised, non-EKG-monitored exercise class that offers ongoing support with an exercise designed to prevent future cardiac events and reduce current risk factors. Each class is supervised by an exercise specialist and includes:
- Pre-and post-assessments
- Individualized exercise program
- Approximately eight weeks of one-hour classes meeting three times a week (may add on sessions after initial eight weeks)
- Pre-/post-class vital signs monitoring (blood pressure, pulse, oxygen).
- Waived enrollment fee when you become a member at the Center for Health & Fitness within one month after participating in the Cardiac Fitness program
