(Kansas City, MO – June 25, 2017) – Jeffrey R. Althoff, M.D.
F.A.C.E.P., U.H.M, board-certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine,
has joined Healient Physician Group, Kansas City, MO.
Dr. Jeffrey Althoff is returning to the St. Joseph Medical Staff after
serving four years as an Air Force flight surgeon with the 334th Fighter
Squadron. Dr. Althoff joined the St. Joseph Medical Center medical staff
in 1992 as an Emergency Physician. After additional training in Hyperbaric
Medicine, he began working as a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine physician
in 1993. He served as Medical Director for Hyperbaric Oxygen Kansas City
through 2012. During that time, he also served as Medical Staff Vice President
and then President at Kindred Hospital Kansas City. Dr. Althoff will also
continue to serve as an F-15E flight surgeon as member of the USAF Reserves
in North Carolina.
He earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas
City School of Medicine, Kansas City, Mo., and performed a residency in
Emergency Medicine at University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kansas City,
Mo. He received a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University
of Missouri-Kansas City School, Kansas City, Mo., and has served in the
United States Military for over four years.
Dr. Althoff also sees St. Joseph Medical Center as positioned for growth.

there is tremendous opportunity to develop the hospital’s wound
care and hyperbaric services,” Dr. Althoff says. “The potential
is very exciting.” The wound care department has state-of-the-art
hyperbaric chambers and a hyperbaric oxygen technician with over 20 years
of experience in wound care to reassure and guide them during their medical
treatment. Patients will see a physician each visit to answer any questions
or concerns.
